Lord of the Memes 1/13/2015

So, I am like super popular.

I rarely daily find myself with some a lot of free time with all my friends alone that can sometimes always last until late in the evening my 10 o'clock bed time.

So what would a super party animal like me do with all this time?

Would I spend it writing blogs?

NO!
That is what work is for!

Would I spend it doing my hair?

NO!
It pretty much "does" itself since I've had the same haircut since I was 9.

Would I binge watch the Lord of the Rings Trilogy?

NO
HAHA YOU'RE NOT EVEN CLOSE!

It was the Hobbit trilogy.

I am not ashamed at how much I enjoy these movies.  It may seem to be the case because sometimes this happens:

Friend:  Are you watching those movies again?

Me:

Now I am no LOTR fanatic.

I don't even own the books, and I haven't read them in a very, very long time.

But these movies are pretty fantastic...and on top of that, the new one has finally made it to Bahrain.

Legally.

Promise?

Like I said before, it isn't easy to find time it is totally easy to find time to watch a 3 hour movie...or two...in a single sitting.  So why not fill that precious plentiful time with some Orcs and Hobbit and a few Dwarf Kings?

YOU CAN'T THINK OF A GOOD REASON NOT TO,
CAN YOU!?!?

Oh, you can?

Well stop it.

Messes up my argument.

Anyway...

I got my gritty little mitts on a copy of the new movie released in the US, soon to be edited and released in Bahrain...maybe.

I didn't want to wait, and now that my friends the Internet is seeing it, my extreme desire to be on the cutting edge outskirts of the popular things in society - like this movie - has kicked in and I don't want to be left behind the popular kids miss any funny pictures people post online.

THAT AND OH MY GOD DID YOU SEE THE END OF THE SECOND ONE IT WAS AMAZING AND THEN IT JUST STOPPED I NEARLY FALL OFF THE EDGE OF MY SEAT EVERY TIME I WATCH IT AND NOW I CAN FINALLY SEE THE ENDING THE SUSPENSE HAS BEEN YEARS IN THE MAKING.

So what makes these movies so great?

Is it the character development?

Is it the amazing special effects?

Is it that it makes all the ladies line up at my door give me a weird look and back away slowly when I can quote it?

Nah, it isn't any of that.

IT IS BECAUSE OF THE GLORIOUS FUNNY PICTURES PEOPLE HAVE MADE!

I can see you sitting there now, all like:

I know what you're thinking:

"But Ryan, why do you keep saying Indiana Jones was a trilogy when there were four movies?"

First of all, focus.  Stay on topic.

Secondly, you shut your dirty face hole - there were only three Indiana Jones movies.  I have no memory of a fourth.

None.

Back to the focus of this blog - taking pictures other people have created and writing a few lines of rubbish in between...

It is a touchy thing - as some people treat the Lord of the Rings as their god, as their religion, as their guiding light.  It happens much in the same way people model their lives after the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man has gone before.

So when you decide to lampoon something as preciouusssssss as The Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit, you have to treat it with complete honor and dignity...

...but above all, it has to be treated with respect.

While you have been busy making funny pictures of Gnu's, (thank you for that) other people have been long busy creating one of the most rich and colorful image joke environments around.

One even a literary and creative genius like Tolkien would be proud to call his own.

Some are creative, some are vulgar, some are downright crude...

But they all have one important thing in common:

THEY AREN'T BLOCKED AT WORK AND YOU CAN LOOK AT THEM FOR HOURS!

I mean, come on...no one can resist the charm of some of the characters.  They are so ingrained in popular culture now I would wager one could get elected to some high office.

So go on, have an adventure.  Type in anything from the Hobbit or Lord of the Rings Trilogy and then just put the word "funny" afterward.

If you are new at this, start with the classics.  Here is one of the most popular lines from the first movie in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy - "One does not simply walk into Mordor"

That isn't so funny on its own...but then you let the Internet get their hands on it and you get...

I guess my point is this:

...

Okay I don't have a point.

But maybe, just maybe, instead of using the Internet to shop, or read the news, or stalk people on Facebook, you should use it for what it was truly intended:

A platform to share funny pictures about the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies.

So go on!  Get out there and have some fun!  Google images is right at your fingertips, waiting for the chance to show you someone else's idea of funny.  Sometimes they are wrong, sometimes they are right.  Usually, if nothing else, you can kill some time.

Don't like Lord of the Rings?

Loser.

But still, type in anything followed by the word "funny" you big loser...

Here is what I got when I typed in "goat funny:"

AND IT GOATS ON LIKE THAT FOR PAGES AND PAGES.

So find some time and explore the deepest recesses outer fringe of the Internet!

Dip your toes in the funny that people are uploading every day minute!

There are starving memes on the Internet, waiting for your attention!

Just in case:

How is it pronounced?  There is a "correct" way, but that defeats the purpose of its very existence.

So say it however the hell you want to say it.  Meeems, mehms, mimis...may-mays...it's up to you.

If you want to start with what is new and hip, just visit http://knowyourmeme.com/ and see what is up there.  This is the picture on the front page now:

Although when you are as popular bored as me the opportunity to do that almost never always comes up.

But I must warn you - if you do decide to watch The Hobbit Trilogy, make sure you have ALL THREE.  There is no funny picture on the internet that can describe how much you will be like:

There is no at least one funny picture on the internet that can describe how much you will be like that...
